Important Processing Links of Acrylic Products

Adhesion of acrylic board is mainly affected by two aspects: applicability of adhesives themselves and adhesiveness skills.

At present, there are many adhesives in the domestic market, there are mainly two types. One is a two-component, such as universal adhesive, epoxy resin, and the other is a single component, such as CC13 (chloroform). Generally speaking, two-component adhesives are bonded by curing reaction, and one-component adhesives are bonded by the final volatilization of solvents. The characteristics of two-component adhesives are good bonding effect, no bubbles, no whitening and high strength after bonding. The disadvantages are complex operation, difficulty, long curing time, slow speed and difficult to meet the requirements of mass production. The general one-component adhesives are characterized by high speed, which can meet the technological requirements of mass production. The disadvantage of the adhesives is that the adhesives are easy to produce bubbles, whitening and poor weather resistance.

Bonding Skills

Firstly, butt joint will place two acrylic plates to be butted horizontally on the operating platform, and glue a tape at the bottom, leaving a gap not more than 0.3 mm wide for the application of adhesive. Then the adhesive is injected evenly and slowly from one side into the crevice with a syringe until it is fully filled, and the tape can be removed after it is completely cured.

2. Vertical bonding is one of the most widely used bonding technologies. First, the surface to be bonded should be wiped clean. It is better to use die to achieve bonding, so that the bonding material does not shake, which is conducive to improving the quality of bonding. The acrylic plate with thickness of 3 mm can be bonded with fine metal wires, which can be bonded by capillary action, and the metal wires can be extracted before the bonding agent solidifies. or it can be used to stick tape on the parts that do not need to be bonded to protect them, leaving the parts coated with adhesive to be coated with adhesive, and then obliquely put into acrylic plate to extrude bubbles.

3. To prevent the displacement of the bonded inclined surface, the 90 degree angle mould must be used to bond the inclined surface. The application of adhesives should be uniform and slow. The backing die can not be removed until it is completely cured.

Fourth, plane bonding is a special bonding method. First of all, the adhesive surface will be wiped clean and placed horizontally, with a proper amount of adhesive on the surface. One side of the other acrylic plate is slanted to contact the acrylic plate coated with adhesive, then evenly and slowly lowered, and the bubbles are driven out from one side to complete the bonding.

Notes

1. All acrylic adhesives can corrode the surface of acrylic board and leave traces that are difficult to eliminate. Therefore, the non-adhesive parts can be protected by sticking the non-adhesive parts.

2. Oil, dust or stomata will hinder the uniform coating of the adhesive and leave bubbles, so it must be removed before bonding.

3. If the amount of adhesives is too small, it will bring air into the shrinkage of the adhesives.

4. Direct blowing will whiten the edge of the bonding surface due to the rapid volatilization of the bonding agent.

5. Before the adhesives can not be completely cured, direct sunlight irradiation for a long time will cause different degrees of yellowing of acrylic products, seriously affecting the beauty of acrylic products.
